Tip from Nata – Plieška

Have you ever noticed a large illuminated cross behind Ružomberok in the direction of Martin? It is on the left in the Černová district. If by chance not, then try to notice him next time. If so, then you know exactly which mountain I'm going to take you to today.

Today we are moving from the Ostredok hotel to nearby Ružomberok. I commute from Ružomberok to Jasná, so this road is so familiar to me that I could do it with my eyes closed. Of course, only if I am not surprised by a column. Which happens quite often... Anyway, today we will move to the Černová district and climb a beautiful hill called Plieška together.

Plieška is a smaller hill with an altitude of 1067 meters, but don't be fooled. The ascent to this mountain is steeper, so even an experienced hiker will sweat. But at the same time, it is also easily accessible for less experienced tourists. If you give this hill a chance, you will see one of the most beautiful views of Ružomberok and its surroundings.

We park the car at the Klačno housing estate. It is a housing estate that is immediately adjacent to Černová. I recommend parking as low as possible in the direction of Černová, because our route starts right at the beginning of the road that leads to Čutkovska dolina. We notice a red tourist sign on the right hand side and follow it.

Right from the beginning, we start to climb the route and before long we have beautiful views of the surrounding nature. We continue through the forest and paths, all the time following the red tourist sign. Before long, we will reach a meadow where there is a wooden hunting perch on the left hand side, and here there will be a change. We will not continue following the red tourist sign, but continue following the signs directly to Plieska.

A few more steep sections await us, but we still reach the top after an hour and a half at an easy pace. We chose an easier pace because there were 4 of us participating in this hike, but only 3 of us could walk on our own two feet 🙂 .

After reaching the top, we have a beautiful view of Ružomberok and its surroundings. We had beautiful weather, but can you imagine seeing the inversion from here? Or a snowy landscape? That's a completely different level... Well, at least for me. So I will definitely come back here! At least twice.

Total route: 8,5 km

Total time of ascent and descent: just over 2 hours

Meters boarded: 560

Difficulty: anyone can handle it, even with a baby in a carrier! 🙂
