Prosiecká and Kvačianska dolina

Once upon a time, when we were still children, our parents often took us to the already poor Aunt Milka in Prosiek. On this occasion, we always ate uncle Mičuda's homemade sausages and walked to Prosiecká dolina. I often remember that there was so much water that my father always had to carry us from stone to stone and so on to the other bank... Today there really isn't that much water. And I still remember that our mother saw snakes everywhere. But that was a long time ago, even more than 30 years may have passed.

The fact is that I was in Prosiecka only this weekend after such a long time. And it wouldn't even happen, but you know the saying that even a shoemaker walks barefoot. My friend, a great psychologist from Bronča @dobry_kouc, is calling me saying that she needs to vent with her boyfriend after a week in the capital.

The weather was kind, I was quite sick, I say to myself, let's have something light, nice, undemanding. But then again, so that it has, as we say, both cici and rici.

We set off first thing in the morning to Kvačianska dolina. Yes, it's confusing, but I knew that there might not be power on the last meadow connecting Kvačianska with Prosiecká, so we took two cars. Otherwise, that meadow is beautiful, one of my favorite in Liptov. However, we went to take my car to the parking lot in Kvačian, where we paid a pleasant 3 crowns and continued to Prosiek with the other car. There are taxis there in the high season that will take you to Prosiek when you really don't want to.

The Prosiecka valley in the Chočské vrchy is a beautiful gorge valley with everything that goes with it. Water, chains, where there is a ladder, a waterfall, and at the same time you won't fall into it at all. It's still a pleasant walk. After only a few hundred meters, we reach the Vráta section, where we take pictures for a saved soul, cross the stream, test the chains and are very happy that there is no traffic here.

We are actually enjoying it just as comfortably as I am writing. We come to a crossroads, where we go left and come to a waterfall. However, I am afraid that there will be no water in the summer months. In general, this valley is most beautiful in the spring months, when there is more water and you can feel how the color of the valley is being completed.

Back to the crossroads. Since we started with the beautiful entrance gate to the valley, we are again greeted by a beautiful gorge interlaced with ladders, opening onto the beautiful, already Orava meadows of Svorad.

A few moments later, we enter the Kvačianska valley through a beautiful gate. What is perhaps worth noting are the remains of the old barriers. I didn't look for it in any way, but the Kvačianská valley was allegedly used by traffic as standard, before the road connecting Liptov and Huts was built. Today it will seem impossible to you, but here you will see beautifully how powerful nature can be. Every time I fly here by bicycle, I say to myself that I don't understand what draws people here to walk for so long. But today, with a slight runny nose and throat discomfort, I get it. It is such a beautiful valley and it will pass you by so quickly that you will not understand how soon you arrive at Oblazy.

Oblaž is a place that, if you put it into Google, you will get a million posts, and as an oasis of relaxation, it is worth it. I keep telling myself that these enthusiasts who maintain this old water mill with a saw as a legacy for the present generations deserve more than our notice.

Otherwise, on Oblazy we don't just meet standard mountain tops, but we see ladies in fancy tracksuits, or sweaty guys with tattoos and heavy watches. It just means you don't have to do the whole route. A walk from the mouth of the Kvačianská dolina to the mentioned Oblaze may be enough for you. Two viewpoints await us in the direction of Oblaze - Kobyliny and Roháč with breathtaking scenery. I believe that children from about 5-6 years of age will be able to handle this nice forest walk with just a little babbling. For me, it's a family tip, and when it's windy or raining on the ridges, it won't matter so much in this valley. Otherwise, I always stop at the parking lot in Kvačianská for a pancake with jam after the Orava fairy-tale wheel. A nice classic that pleases and doesn't hurt, and that's how it happened now. Actually, when we saw the car, we were quite relieved that we didn't have to walk another 5 km across the meadow to Prosiek.

PS: I love that meadow.
